Marie Kiyone graduated from the Tokyo College of Music High School in 2008, where she studied as a scholarship student with Prof. Emiko Harimoto and Dr. Atsuko Okada. From 2008, she started her study at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland with Prof. Piotr Paleczny. She completed her Master’s degree with the top score in 2013. She also graduated from the Imola International Piano Academy ‘Incontri col Maestro’ (Italy) in 2016, in Prof. Piero Rattalino’s class.
She has been a laureate of many national and international piano competitions, such as All-Poland Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (4th prize), the 3rd prize at “MozARTe” International Piano Competition (Aachen, Germany), the 2nd prize at “Stefano Marizza” International Piano Competition (Trieste, Italy), the 3rd prize at “G.Gershwin” International Music Competition (New York), and the 1st prizes at “J.Zarebski” (Poland), “Citta di Asti” (Italy), “Concentus Roma”, “L.Godowski” (Poland) and both “Academy Award Youth” and “Academy Award 2015” (Rome) international competitions. She also received the diploma at the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2010.
She has performed with well-known orchestras and chamber musicians, including Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, Filarmonica Oltenia Orchestra (Romania) and Sumy Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine). She regularly gives recitals in many countries, especially in Japan, Poland and Italy. She has been invited to Aspen Music Festival, Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival and MI-TO Milano Torino Settembre Musica Festival.
From 2017, she started her carrier of teaching in Japan. She currently holds the position at Showa University of Music.
